The XRP community is coming up with new ideas to give the XRP token a token. The community started designing a new symbol, different from the existing Ripple logo, so that XRP can be distinguished from the company Ripple.
The project was started by Alexavier Guzman after he noticed that XRP uses an ISO 4217 currency code . Anyone can contribute to the open-source project via its GitHub page.
Guzman made the following announcement about the project:
“The purpose of the project is for the XRP community to offer suggestions for a potential symbol, to be used when writing the XRP amount and submitting it to the Unicode Consortium for evaluation.”
The Unicode Consortium is a non-profit organization that coordinates the development of the Unicode standard. The consortium specifies symbols and characters worldwide.
The main idea of the project is to enable everyone to use a common symbol representing XRP, as in Bitcoin and Litecoin.
