Telegram’s billion-dollar initial coin offering (ICO) investors have quickly become a favorite target for scammers. Scammers open fake sites claiming to be from the Telegram ICO team.

Fake Telegram ICO sites

According to the reported; Nine more websites have been identified claiming to be selling Telegram ICOs, after a fraudulent website allegedly run by the Telegram Foundation was reported. claims to be listed around. In particular, the first fake website that CoinDesk identified was taken down.

Many of the websites in CoinDesk’s review share several common design elements, while other sites are open clones of each other.. Also, many of the sites use the same phrase to describe the proposal in question:

As the representative of TON Blockchain, we offer the cryptocurrency GRAM. 200 million Telegram users will be given a TON wallet, making it the most accepted cryptocurrency in the world. It will provide direct payment channels in milliseconds, easily host millions of users and thousands of decentralized applications.

Domain names opened with fake names

Domain-owned searches of websites provide legitimacy.

For example, Telegram.tokyo was recorded by someone claiming to be Telegram founder Pavel Durov, while tonico.info was attributed to another Russian citizen named Vladimir Timofeev

It is unclear whether these individuals have any links to the sites registered to their names.. Domain registration is hidden for most of the sites.

The problem, as previously reported, is that the Telegram sale is out of the public eye.. So far, any sales accreditation has been limited to investors, and it’s unclear exactly who(s) is buying the platform Telegram is recommending.

In addition, no tokens are currently being sold.. Telegram ICO operates under a simple agreement for its future tokens. Purchased tokens will not be distributed until after some cooldown. The longest will last 18 months.

Similarly, it is unclear whether Telegram has taken any action to interfere with these activities.. The company did not immediately respond to requests for comments sent. This is not without doubt.
